Hello! I’m Ryan Boden, a professional Wedding DJ born and raised in Northumberland, specialising in creating unforgettable musical experiences for couples who desire something unique on their special day.

My Journey

My love for music began at an early age, and over the years, it has taken me on an incredible journey through various facets of the music scene. Starting out in local nightclubs, I quickly progressed to playing at some of Newcastle and Durham’s busiest super clubs like Digital, theCUT, World HQ, Babylon, and Klute. While the thrill of playing to large crowds as big as 2,000 was exhilarating, the 4am finishes and never seeing daylight made me rethink my path.

Despite spending 6 years completing a Law Degree at Northumbria University, my passion for music always drew me back to the decks. I discovered a love for alternative weddings—celebrations that break away from the conventional and truly reflect a couple’s individuality. Embracing this niche allowed me to connect with couples who share my affinity for genres like indie, pop-punk, and emo, and who want their wedding soundtrack to be as unique as they are.

What Sets Me Apart

I believe that good music is the heartbeat of any memorable event. What sets me apart is my ability to curate and deliver alternative DJ sets that go beyond the typical wedding playlist. If bands like Arctic Monkeys, Fleetwood Mac, Paramore, Slipknot or Fall Out Boy are more your style, then I’m the DJ who understands your vision and can bring it to life.

Memorable Experiences

One of the most memorable weddings I DJd (or ‘DJed’?) was for a couple who transformed their reception into a mini music festival. They wanted an atmosphere that reflected their shared love for indie and pop-punk music after spending their years together attending various festivals. Collaborating closely, we crafted a setlist that included their favourite tracks and hidden gems. Seeing their guests singing along and the dance floor packed all night reaffirmed why I love focusing on alternative weddings.

My Musical Passion

I’m deeply passionate about alternative genres like indie, pop-punk, and emo (and all the sub-genres and cross-overs that go along with them). This music resonates with me, and I love sharing it with others who feel the same connection. Staying updated with the latest releases while also cherishing the classics allows me to create a dynamic and engaging alternative DJ set.

Collaborating with Couples

Your wedding should be a reflection of your unique journey together, and music plays a significant role in that. I prioritise getting to know you as a couple through conversations where we discuss your ideas, song choices, and musical tastes. This collaboration ensures that the soundtrack of your wedding is personalised and meaningful, creating an unforgettable experience for you and your guests.

Beyond the DJ Booth

When I’m not behind the decks, I love travelling with my Chihuahua, Franklin, in my campervan. So far, we’ve visited 28 countries, embracing new cultures and music along the way. These adventures fuel my creativity and bring fresh perspectives to the events I DJ, enriching the experiences I can create for couples like you.
