Common Questions (and Honest Answers)
I’m a nationwide wedding DJ covering the entire UK. While I’m based in the North, I have a custom-built campervan setup means I’m fully mobile and can bring my own accommodation. Whether you’re getting married in the Cotswolds, the Peak District, or the Scottish Highlands, I don’t charge extra for travel or accommodation. The price you’re quoted is the price you pay.
I’m fully self-sufficient and arrive with everything I need to get the party started. If there is evening food going around and I’m invited to grab a bite, it’s always hugely appreciated, but it’s a bonus, never a requirement.
Absolutely. I carry £5 million in Public Liability Insurance (PLI) and all my equipment is PAT tested annually. Most high-end wedding venues require these certificates as a standard safety measure. I’m happy to send digital copies directly to you or your venue coordinator.
100%. This is your wedding night, not mine. As an alternative wedding DJ, I ditch the “standard” wedding tracks for a setlist that actually reflects you. Tell me the vibe you’re after, including your must-plays and absolutely-don’t-plays, and I’ll stick to it. I’m a wedding DJ who takes requests on the night, too; I’ll read the room and blend your favourites into a seamless, high-energy set that keeps the dance floor moving.
In the UK, wedding DJ hire prices vary wildly. A budget or part-time DJ might charge £300–£600, while a specialist professional typically ranges from £600 to £1,500+. My evening wedding reception packages range from £795 to £1,195.
First, hit the contact form to check my availability. If I’m free, I’ll send over a personalised quote and we can chat to make sure my style fits your vision. To officially secure the date in my diary, I require a £200 booking fee and a signed contract. The remaining balance isn’t due until one month before the big day.
I’m a specialist wedding DJ, which means I focus 100% on the music and the dance floor energy. I don’t provide photo booths or dance floors, but my Signature Package does include professional venue uplighting to transform your room’s atmosphere.
The “good ones” go fast. Most couples book 12 to 18 months in advance, especially for peak Saturdays between May and October. I often take bookings up to three years out. If your date is sooner or you’re planning a midweek wedding, definitely get in touch – I occasionally have late availability.
Absolutely. I’m a huge fan of live music and I’m more than happy to share the stage. In fact, a lot of the weddings I play involve a live band or musician. I’ll coordinate with them before the big day to discuss sound-checking, equipment sharing, and seamless transitions. Whether I’m playing before they start, filling the intervals, or taking over for a high-energy finish once they’ve packed down, I’ll ensure the music never stops and the energy stays high. I’m there to complement the live act, not compete with them, ensuring a seamless flow for your evening entertainment.
Definitely. I don’t just show up and press play; I want to get the vibe exactly right. I usually arrange a wedding music consultation via phone or video call about a month before your big day to finalise your music vibe and the evening schedule. That said, I’m completely flexible. You can have as many calls as you need to feel 100% confident. I use a Calendly link that’s always kept up to date with my availability, so you can jump in and grab a time slot that suits you—no back-and-forth emails required.
Volume control is one of the most underrated skills of a professional DJ. I’m always mindful of the “room energy.” Early on in the evening, I keep things at a level where guests can still chat comfortably over a drink. If the dance floor is still warming up, I’ll keep the music at an upbeat, background level. Once the party kicks off and the floor is full, I’ll crank it up to get that high-energy atmosphere—but never to the point where it’s distorted or uncomfortable. I am also highly experienced at working within venue sound limiters and restrictions.
Absolutely. While I’ve built my reputation as an alternative wedding DJ, that’s about my approach to the party, not just the genre. My career has been built on reading crowds of all ages and backgrounds. If you want Motown or 60s Soul early on to get your nan on the floor, I’m all over it. If the mood calls for a bit of Shakira or ABBA to get the drinks flowing, I’ve got the tracks ready to go. My goal is to blend your specific taste—whether that’s Indie, Rock, or Electronic—with the all-time floor-fillers that keep the whole room moving. You get the cool, alternative edge you want, without leaving anyone out.
I’ve made the payment process as smooth as possible. I accept bank transfers and all major credit and debit cards, including American Express (for those looking to rack up those Avios points for the honeymoon flights). 20% Booking Fee: Required to officially secure your date in my diary. Remaining 80% Balance: Due one month before your wedding day.
Yes, absolutely. You are welcome to pay early at any time before the balance due date if you would prefer to get it sorted in advance.
You are also welcome to pay in instalments if that is easier for you. There is no set schedule, so you can make smaller payments whenever suits you, as long as the full balance is paid by the final due date.
Just use any of the payment methods provided in the “Booking Information” email, and I will confirm once each payment has been received.
